I have no idea if anyone has made this thread yet and if so sorry but im at work....and im bored.
So anyrate what are you theories how the GW:EN storyline will turn out, how it will overall end, and what is going to prompt GW2.
Its already known that "The Great Destroyer" is the primary enemy of GW:EN but what im wondering is how is it that coming to the great destroyer will come about and even more so will this battle take place in a part of the UW or in "The Great Forge" or whatever its called. What part are the Asura and the Norn going to play overall....and i cant remember whether or not the Sylvari or however the name is spelled will make an appearance. Its also been confirmed that charr will be enemies but also allies in the expansion. Now overall here is my theory.....bear with me as it may be long and even off-topic at some points (when i get calls i lose my train of thought).
It will start out with the fissures on all the continents (more than likely the same sort of quest chain like sunspears in kryta/cantha) to which you descend into and enter the first of 18 dungeons...fight through there la di da dida at the end of which you see one of the asura passing through a portal at which time you persue through the portal...and basically the 18 dungeons are chasing the asura also while passing through relics of the gods and what have you at the end of which you pop up in the Asuran territory. Now heres where i begin to draw blanks....namely because they put a lot of emphasis on the 18 dungeons....then exploring the new regions (kind of a fuzzy detail given on that) then something about another 3 missions if i remember right (which i dont always) at the end of which you have a battle with the great destroyer and weeeeee you have brought balance to the forsh...er...tyria. Personally i have the theory that the great destroyer was behind the Lich who was behind the Titans and the Mursaat which were behind the White mantle, the sundering of the kingdom of Orr and the destruction of Ascalon. He also being behind the demon fortune teller lady who drove shiro insane and totaly screwed over cantha. And also behind Abbadon and the margonites attempts to destroy the world. and yes yes i know it was kormir who awakened the apocrapha or however that is spelled but i am actually talking about the lore that got abbadon banished in the first place. So anyrate back to the story. You do all this exploring at which time youll meet the norn and whatever other races you happen to stumble upon at the end of which you come across charr home territory...probably murder a few of the bastards....pick up a few heroes and move along your merry way at the end of which you meet up with the Deldrimore Dwarves in the northern shiverpeaks....go through all their underground crap they built....learn about the destroyer and eventually kill em. after which will be one of those divine path'esq type areas which takes you to the hall of monuments which does....absolutely jack shit but you feel a little better inside.
Now if this is how it all ends and that which has attempted to detroy the world of tyria for god knows how long....how can there really be a GW2? theories are welcome =P
Location: Good ol' USA, where everyone else wants to be
Guild: Now Plays World of Warcraft on Whisperwind
Party: Now that the Great Destroyer is dead we can party on... /dance
Gwen: (in an odd masculine voice) muhahahahah now that my rival has been put to rest you shall all bow before me, LOVE ME AND DISPAIR!, (proceeds to burn the party as she once did before)
prologe:
A hundred years have passed most of mankind is now near extinct due to the power of Gwen. With no rivals to contend with the other races begin wonder if they are next....
There is far to much in your theory about GW:EN plot that I disagree with to go into. But I will say that we already know Abaddon was behind the Lich, the Titans, the Fortune Teller, ect. Is The Great Destroyer behind Abaddon? Posible, but not likly. Also, Anet has said that the Eye of the North will be reached early in the game, not at the end.
But here is my theory on GW2 plot. I think it will either be about a 2nd great Guild War or a Race War.
In all seriousness I think Dhuum is the baddie.
He's lurking somewhere and he appears so far to be inspired by the devil.
So maybe he's clawing his way up from 'hell' to take over.
Low budget version (AKA Neverwinter Nights 2 ending): Rocks fall, everyone dies. In GW2 our descendants will go on a quest to find our legendary weaponry.
Blockbuster version, GW2 intro: "And so it is written that great heroes from the last Age upon defeating the Great Destroyer unleashed a series of events that rose the lost continent of Orr onto the face of Tyria. And thus a new World Of Wonder was born..."
Though I know it won't happen, I kind of wish that the final scene you see if a nice green blade of grass poking out from the dirt in Ascalon, signaling that the land is going to go back to normal.
Of course, I know this won't happen. more like the Destroyer dies, eyeone is happy, and someone says something corny like "Your deeds will be remembered in the Hall of Heroes forever"

That would be a great scene! Perhaps even better; one of those red flowers Gwen loved poking out.
It'll end with your father being burnt on a funeral pyre with the Asura dancing around it. You'll see the ghosts of Ruick and your fathers spirit looking on, and your long lost sister and your best friend will snuggle. The camera will the pan upwards where glint and kunnevang are making fireworks. All this will be overlaid with chirpy tribal music...
Firstly, I'd like to see the great destroyer is Palawa Joko, maybe still hellbent on conquering Tyria. Secondly, who's to say that we defeat this great destroyer? Maybe it is that storyline that will be picked up in GW2. Perhaps the Hall of Monuments for each account/toon is actually a masoleum.
Deep Voice Movie Guy "In a land long ruled by a powerful evil, the ancestors of once great and victorious Heros take up the call to stand against his tyranny (and possible army of Prize Winning Hogs".

ROFLED hard on this one, superb SW reference. Well played, old bean.

We made a crack about that somewhere. It was the ghosts of Rurik and Togo standing in the background and the Asura all singing the yub nub song.
How about this. The great Destroyer is Menzies and after he is beaten and everyone celebrates, the camera zooms in on Menzies grave and a hand busts out of the ground and tag teams another mysterious hand.

In the "in game trailer" for GW:EN from the GW Site, i believe Gwen is actually narrating the trailer and in the end the girl that lines up with the soldiers is Gwen.. 6 years older..
and why dont our characters age! everyone else does....ffs theres a 2 year split between presear and the start of the prophecies campaign and still the same crappy armors and weapons. i want to see 6 years of hair growth and what have you (which in turn will call for a hairdresser)
The Great Destroyer Appears as a contorted body of two being and the head speaks in a doubled distorted voice to the valiant hero:
The Great Destroyer: So these are the impertinent fleshing that has ruined my plans for the last time.
Hero: That’s what it will be; your last time.
The Great Destroyer (malicious laugh): You don’t understand do you? This is not the first time we have crossed paths. However it’s never been a face to face confrontation. You see your Gods banished us.
Hero: Us?
The Great Destroyer: That’s right you may remember a pair of two figures that brought great malice to the gods? I believe you know them as Dhuum and Menzies. We had to combined are equally thwarted powers to become one great being, after they banished us. So we formed into one and took the name of the Great Destroyer.
Hero: Impossible.
The Great Destroyer: Not really our influence remains, like that of the former fallen god Abaddon. You see we have had enough of Tyria, we no longer want to rule it; we simply want to destroy it, for the lesser gods hold it with such great admiration. Now then I imagine your death will be swift, for you will be the first to be extricated from existence.
